At a moment  all of us are realizing that happiness is not an abstract concept, but something that can be constructed piece by piece with small gestures and little things in our daily life. However, it still difficult to us to transform this abstract concept into something tangible and more real…

In a way, we are beginning to change our own perception from expectant observers into actors of our own destiny. So,  to be conscious of our desire and responsible about our actions results is an important requirement. There is no room for luck or chance to promote the changes which we need and in most part of the time, we crave.

The first tip is the deep understanding that to every action there is a reaction. So, if we want to be accepted and appreciated, we must begin by self acceptance and self understanding, only then we be able to appreciate our own worth.

The next two tips are about our personal posture and presentation. It is known that the way we introduce ourselves, unconsciously reflects how we feel about ourselves and the same way, the people respond to it. If we are self-confident, the self-confidence naturally is showed either in a contact between friends or a professional one. At the same time, to deal with people to be nice and polite are fundamental elements. In a very practical way, it is observed that people who knows how to show themselves as nice and polite get a more effective communication than those who are always complaining about something. Today even if we want to complain about something, we need to be calm and express our ideas clearly and politely to get effective results.

The third tip is related to health, the fact is if we feel healthy it brings us self-confidence. It is important to understand that health nowadays is an extensive concept which is physical, emotional, metal, psychological and spiritual. The physical health involves two basic tips – practicing exercise and a healthy diet. We already know that we can maintain and balance our physical health by practicing physical exercises and it is also a strong element in mental and psychological health. In practical terms, when we are stressed and we exercise our brains produce endorphins which bring us relaxation and well being and of course, we all enjoy this feeling.

Have a balanced and healthy diet can be very enjoyable if we allow ourselves to try different smells and flavors. In a very practical way, we all like a good meal and a healthy food can be tasty! Today, we have easy access to good recipes on the tips of our fingers or just using one if we use the cell phone! The time to think about this is now! The more younger is better, remember we need a healthy body to have independence and autonomy. It becomes extremely important when the age increases.

Emotional health involves two other basic tips – self-acceptance and honesty with ourselves. Most of us when hearing the word “self-acceptance” feel a slight discomfort. It is due in most part of the time, because we are our worst and severe critic. And why? Because usually we want correspond to something that is idealized, we want to be perfect or at least, a “better edition” of ourselves. It is precisely at this moment where the self honesty becomes fundamental, because the most part of us knows or feels what is real or not in ourselves. This realization is accompanied by a degree of anxiety, where we are constantly afraid about to be uncovered by others… In practice, the first step is to be honest with ourselves and accept that we are not perfect! We only can be and to do our best and also, we can be sure that growing up, tomorrow will be better than today, but only if we accept that we are not perfect … We are and we exist on the movement, we are a constant working project…

Mental and psychological health involves seeking to be and to live in harmony with all around us and with ourselves what involves all the previous tips! To this goal, the most important thing is to be in the present moment! We are usually stucked in the past or imagining and planning in the future. So, we are in the past situations which we can no longer act about it which cause us an unconscious resentment. Or we are projecting our desires and plans for the future to compensate our frustration. It all made impossible to be in contact with the reality which becomes painful and frustrating. Due to these psychic defense mechanisms, we waste the immense potential of to be in the present moment! Only in the present we can understand, elaborate and transform the past and at same time create better conditions and to choose and to create the future we want.

Finally, it is important to say that spirituality is very different from religion, they are not the same both are important, but spirituality is not restricted to the practices of a religion. Spirituality today is linked  with the notion of be part of a whole and the importance of  be in harmony with all around us and with ourselves. Today, there are multiples and different tools – yoga, meditation, mantras, prayers, and various group work, to facilitate self-knowledge and be self-aware about the many inner dimensions that we all possess.  The greatest teaching that a healthy spiritual practice gives us is to appreciate and to be grateful for the little things of everyday life, and to know that is by saving those little moments of clarity and inner awareness that we are saving the great in each one of us!
